The craziest thing? These were taken on the same day.

Good Lord, I want this house. Yes, my husband’s commute to downtown Seattle will be a bit rough, and my kids are in for hella long schoolbus rides. But I DON’T CARE because LOOK AT IT JUST LOOK AT IT. I WILL NEVER HAVE TO GO ON DANDELION PATROL AGAIN.

My first thought was; “Wait, who the hell is selling the Lakes of the Clouds Hut?”

But more seriously… That thing has running water, right? The ad seems to avoid the question.

On the listing site there’s a photo of the kitchen. It has a sink, but no taps. Judging from that, I’d say no, it probably does not.

You may never get another chance to secure property in this location

Um, because of the boulder avalanches?

Going out and cutting down a Christmas tree must be a bitch.

Love the “Energy Rating: Not available”!

For a second I thought someone listed my house here in Duluth.

    It’s obviously on Mars.

Want want want want want! I have been to this area and it truly is a slice of heaven. A *remote* slice of heaven!

Propane generator, so can see why no energy rating available. My question is with that lovely fireplace; if it’s a wood burning stove, where in the heck do you get any firewood around there? I don’t see anything taller then a shrub. If it’s propane heated, that could get expensive (at least with US prices) and you’d have to have a large tank of gas trucked in,more then those two smaller tanks shown.

UUUuuuuhhhh, do y’all remember the Alaska myths episode of Mythbusters when Jamie and Adam tested cabin fever in those remote huts?

    Yeah.

Is the “No Smoking” sign intended for people who just drop by?

    • LMA says:

I think it’s the first of a series of passive aggressive notes between the former pair of occupants … just prior to the murder-suicide. The rest of the notes were impounded for evidence.

It’s like the frozen dacha in Doctor Zhivago. I can just see Yuri stumbling across the frozen tundra….

  14. evildave says:

Oh, HELL NO! Look behind the house in the snow picture. The snow’s as deep as the house… and they had to DIG IT OUT, or it would probably push the house off its foundation, or at least seep directly into the walls.

I like my snow where I can VISIT it. Live with SNOW? You need to be some kind of masochist.
