Infinite, but still expanding, impeccably updated & maintained 4/5Br, 4Ba traditional home

Funny-Real Estate-Photos: What A View

Funny-Real Estate-Photo: Nice View

Is space infinite? Does the universe curve back on itself, thus making it seem infinite although it isn’t really (or is it)? And if it does curve back on itself, does that curve take a really sharp turn somewhere in suburban Maryland?

Loveliest comment, by TacoMagic: If you go into that picture in the bedroom, you end up in front of the house. You can walk inside, up the stairs and into the very nice bedroom on the second floor. There is a nice picture there which you can enter to be in front of the house. Now that you’re in front of the house you should go inside and up the stairs. What a lovely picture, you’re in front of the house… *Rocks back and forth*

Come on. It’s clearly a wormhole.

Did anyone else play Maniac Mansion for the NES?

  4. PrincessLuceval says:

I used to love books like that, which had a picture in it of someone reading a book which was the book I was reading.

  5. BillsBayou says:

Maybe that’s the “Picture of the House of Dorian Gray”. If you take the picture outside and show it to itself, it’ll collapse in on itself until all you have left is a mobile home with a distinct list.

  6. Samuel says:

My first gut reaction is that the front yard was photoshopped to eliminate a brown spots and or driveways, but then I noticed that there are no sidewalks, driveways or landscaping in the painting either…

  7. Eric Hempler says:

That would be the biggest house I’ve ever come across. Must be a steal.

  8. Transdimensional House is Transdimensional.

When I saw the picture, it reminded me of a house I had driven past several times when I still lived in the USA. Sure enough, this house is in Cockeysville. I think this is the same house I remembered.

  10. Kalani says:

I don’t think this is that big of a deal. Why not have a portrait of the house in your house? Especially if it’s an original artwork. Where else are you going to hang it, your neighbor’s house?

  11. Quark says:

Maybe there is a giant mirror at the end of the garden, so when you look out of the window, you see the picture on the wall.

If you want to get out of the house, you have to modify the picture to draw in a door.

  12. Stetla says:

I think I saw this house in an episode of “The Twilight Zone.”

  13. FonHom says:

Not so much about the house, but I dropped the remote and knocked a few things over when I clcked thru Nightline (ABC) tonight and saw an end of show feature on LovelyListing. Just now noticed all references to “Its Lovely! I’ll Take It!” have seen surgically excised from site. Why Why Why???
Lots of everyone’s favorite pics including giant golden retriever thru kitchen door.
If you’re on the west coast or mountain zone you can still catch it!

Nothing sinister about the name change, I promise: it just made more sense to have the name and the URL be the same.

      Link-a-dink here.

Okay, lookit, I appreciate the benefits you get from your LOLverlords, but how does the creator of the blog not even warrent a mention? I’m kinda miffed on your behalf, Sara.

        • Sara says:

I’ll admit I wouldn’t've minded my name being mentioned. But ABC originally asked me to be interviewed and I, in response, freaked out and said “NO NO NO MAKE BEN DO IT,” so no complaints here.

This picture is totally freaking me out. It gives me flashbacks to a really weird house I once visited. Its living room was like going outside because you entered it through french doors (like the “windows” in the painting) and the carpet was an expanse of green (like the “grass” in the painting). That living room was larger than the entire square footage of the rest of the house.

Looks more like someone taking their Sims 2 obsession a bit too far.

  16. Lex says:

Gotta love the “painting” of the house on the wall in the house. SUCH an ego, house.

“I can’t simultaneously LOOK at my beautiful custom-built Bavarian-style mansion with the stone chimney and the two-acre lawn and BE IN my beautiful custom-built Bavarian-style mansion with the stone chimney and the two-acre lawn! Waaaah!”

“There, there, Eustacia, dear,” *pat pat pat* “Daddy will find a way.” *pat pat pat*

  17. Andrew says:

My gods, haven’t any of you heard of “–And He Built a Crooked House” by Heinlein? This is it!

  18. JV says:

Because of the angle of the first photo, it looks like the house is a Hollywood set that’s falling backwards.

  19. Shining Pheonix says:

Ladies and gentlemen, what we have here is the classic example of a tesseract.

  20. Tony Paul says:

The painting has a problem, who has window panes that open *outwards* ???

    • JMixx says:

Try to paint that painting with the windows opening INwards; you would have to paint off the sides of the canvase or shrink the “window” size. I think the windows opening outward is probably an artistic conceit.

  21. Justawonderin says:

Ok how is it infinitely expanding? Has anyone ever seen the movie “Burnt Offerings ” with Oliver Reed and Karen Black from the ’70’s? The house keeps renewing itself by feeding off the tragedies of the families that live there.
I WOULD NOT suggest ANYONE live in this house!!!!

  22. Justawonderin says:

ALSO.. IS IT JUST ME OR DO THE COMPUTER CHAIR AND THE LAMP APPEAR TO BOWING IN OBEISANCE TO THE HOUSE PICTURE??

Oh house, thou divine giver of place for us. We honor thy greatness.

This is actually a house for household items and other houses. This is probably from Chair’s home planet.

(do you see what I’m saying?)

  23. ricki lee says:

Has anyone here read “House of Leaves” by Mark Z. Danielewski? Yeah…

  24. Dan says:

I realize that me not being from the US, thus not being familliar with all common expressions and abbreviations used in house ads, might be part of the problem here. But why use abbreviations in an internet ad? Are you afraid you’ll run out of space? Does your ISP charge you by the byte? Do you want to sort out the n00bz?

Also, I like the hint of risky investment at the end of the page, with “Selling Price of Comparable Properties” where a house just down the street was sold in mid June 2008 for 900 k, and then was sold again the next summer for 575 k.
